Welcome to our fifth iteration of Inside Insights with Qualvu. Through this series, we are giving you the inside scoop into life according to Qualvu – who we are; what we do; how we deliver better business value; what our favorite items from the Qualvu fridge are – but most importantly, who makes up our energetic team.
Qualvu is software driven, but people powered. While supported by software, we rely on human intelligence to drive our business ‒ because at the end of the day, it is our people who go above and beyond to inspire, innovate, and deliver better business solutions.
Today, we are joined by Adam Olaby, Manager, Project Management.
Q: Can you tell us a little about your background and how you ended up at Qualvu?
A: I have over 7 years of project management experience. When I graduated from college, I went directly into a marketing position at an insurance company. From there, I accepted a Project Manager role at a startup that did large scale remediation projects for the city of Des Moines, Iowa. After a few years there, I was looking to transition into the technology sector, since it seemed to be full of opportunity. When I came across an open position at Qualvu, I thought it would be the perfect chance to make my move. After three years here, I’m still glad I made the switch.
Q: Qualvu’s goal is to deliver the truth to businesses globally. What role do you play in that process?
A: As Manager of the Project Management team, there are many different facets of my position. First, it’s about taking what the Enterprise Sales Team sells and executing on that plan. Second, it’s about managing my team to ensure a successful outcome relative to the service agreement. From ethnography to report outs, we do a lot of atypical projects these days that go beyond exploratory research. We are always trying new things, which calls for active risk assessment, proactive internal and external communication, and creative problem solving. I oversee this process to ensure that all the moving pieces fit seamlessly together. We pride ourselves in ensuring a smooth ride for clients at every stage of the project.
Q: How does your position play a role within the overall Qualvu structure and process?
A: As Manager, I oversee the Project Management team, acting as a backdrop for risk assessment. The Project Management team wears many different hats within the organization. We are constantly working across departments to ensure that client needs are met and projects run smoothly.
At the same time, we act as a key resource for others, as well, because we do work with so many different departments. From project scoping to discussion guides, we have a broad scope on all projects and can shed invaluable insight on each. We act as the linchpin in many ways – ensuring everything runs smoothly across the board.
Q: How do you believe Qualvu is addressing a need within the industry?
A: First and foremost, we are problem solvers. Businesses come to us with a need and it is our job to meet that need and elevate their value offering in the process. We want our clients to be their best. Leveraging our innovative online video technology, streamlined and efficient process, and world class research team, we deliver insights that empower them to be just that.
Q: What do you think makes Qualvu unique?
A: We’re unique in that we are surrounded by best-in-class employees here. You won’t find any weak links in the Qualvu chain. I’m working with some of the smartest people I’ve ever met, leveraging the best technology I’ve ever worked with – that is what really sets us apart.
Q: How do you think Qualvu optimizes value for businesses?
A: We’re taking risks that no one else is willing to take. From watching consumers in-vehicle to observing consumers in their bathrooms – we are going where no one else has gone. In a traditionally risk-averse industry, we’re leading the pack.
Q: Thank you, Adam, for sharing a little bit about your role at Qualvu. Just one last important question, what is your favorite beverage in the Qualvu fridge?
A: Sprite Zero…Err…Diet Coke.
