Clipping Workflow and Functionality Overhaul

Turning raw video data into impressive reports with Qualvu has never been more intuitive. As we continue to innovate, we know you’ll find our newest features and capabilities greatly improve Qualvu’s usability. We’ve made significant changes to the clipping process to increase efficiency and improve the clipping and reporting work flow by adding stages within the portal, which we’ve outlined below. • Response: Here you’ll find the entire video responses, as directly submitted by participants. You will create clips in this stage that will then be inserted into the Rough stage. • Rough: This stage contains clips and playlist from the first round of clipping. You can use this stage to take your raw video responses to half or a third of its original length. • Refined: This folder contains further refinement of clips from the rough stage and is targeting yet another half or third of the time that was in the rough stage. • Report: This is where you’ll find clips and playlist that will be used to create your report videos for VideoReport. • Presentation: This final stage contains the best of the best clips from the project to create power point presentations or additional reports. You can use all of the above pre-loaded folders or a subset of them depending on your research objectives and the amount of data you collect. In addition to these folders, we’ve also added a statistics panel that will provide the following information for the videos in each stage of clipping. • Number of participants that responded • Total video time • Percent of raw video data • Number of video responses • Average response time Furthermore, we have added several new tasks to facilitate the clipping and reporting process in Qualvu. • We’ve changed the ‘cloning’ functionality to ‘copy’ and ‘move’ which will allow users to easily duplicate clips to import into more than one playlist, or simply to move a clip from one playlist to another. • We’ve added the capability to resurrect both deleted clips and playlists. To resurrect a clip you just check the ‘Restore Deleted Items Mode’ and to restore a deleted playlist you must check the ‘Show Deleted’ checkbox. To delete either a clip or a playlist, you hit the ‘X’ icon and then ‘save.’ • We’ve also moved the ‘View as Blog’ feature into the action column with the playlist list. Simply choose the link icon in the action column and then copy and paste the link right into your browser and view it as a blog. • Additionally, you can now queue up a playlist download directly from the action column. We’ve also added the capability to create a video clip while simultaneously taking notes, making the analysis process simple and streamlined. Upon starting a cut point, a new ‘notes’ panel will appear under the video screen in Qualvu that allows you to type notes specific to the clip as the video response is playing. You can type detailed, or even verbatim, notes into the ‘my clip notes’ area. Once you “end” your video cut point, the standard clip dialog box appears and will automatically transfer your title and notes into this dialog box. You can then complete any last thoughts you had about the video clip, adjust your title, rate the clip and then assign it to your desired stage and playlist. These instrumental changes make it easier to clip and analyze video responses to help you meet your research objectives. If you’d like further information on these Qualvu enhancements, please contact your dedicated Project Manager at any time.
